A lot of the
slums in Moscow are made up of the Muslims guess workers. 3000 Muslims workers
from middle Asia came to Moscow for work and now live on the slums of Moscow.
Many of the buildings there are little more than crude huts, the journalist notes, assembled from found materials, lack any indoor plumbing or heating and often have as many as ten people to a room. The migrants there at one point did manage to purchase an electric generator, but militia officers took it away. slums usually suffer with coldness and diseases and are harassed by the government officials and most Muslims are largely ignored by the traditional Muslim hierarchies. the slums family also lacks money for the medicine of there sick relative so the people of the settlement try to do what they can. but unfortunately they still can not afford it even if the slum was working because the OMON officer's demand bribes regardless if they have a passport. |
